Ms. Hernandez has 25+ years experience writing, teaching, and leading intelligence analysis across numerous missions including the Middle East, South and East Asia, Counterterrorism, and Counternarcotics. Most recently she worked at CIA’s Sherman Kent School for Intelligence Analysis, where she worked with the Directorate of Analysis Front Office, the Office of Advanced Analytics, and the Tradecraft Council to design and implement more rigorous tradecraft standards. She previously was the Chief of Analysis for CIA’s East Asia Pacific Mission Center where she worked with CIA’s most senior leaders to design cross cutting programs to support Agency goals and US policy objectives. She also has extensive experience working with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, including an assignment at the National Counterterrorism Center and managing the review of the President’s Daily Brief. She started working at CIA in 2000, and was a leadership and political analyst for seven years in the Directorate of Analysis before going into management. She graduated from UVA in 2000 with degrees in Foreign Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, who is also a UVA graduate, and their three children.
